About Us

Malabar's History

Malabar Dental College and Research Centre, is one of the most premier educational projects of Malabar Educational & Charitable Trust. It is specifically designed for all dental care aspirants who want to land in the profession of dental care with smart and quality education. This educational institution was started in 2007 under the University of Calicut. In 2010, it was truly blessed to come under the aegis of Kerala University of Health Science, Trissur. The beautiful campus situated near to the banks of Bharathapuzha adds to the beauty of the campus, which spreads over 25 acres of land. It’s lush green and pollution-free campus is well designed and graciously equipped with all modern facilities. MDC offers academic programs from undergraduate to postgraduate programs in seven specialties. Collectively, our students and residents also benefit from the skills and experience of our highly devoted faculty, and a rich collaborative environment.

Our Mission And Vision

At MDC we try our best to equip our students to dream without limits and enable them to adapt themselves to the changing environment.

We help them face challenges by which students improve their skills and their outlook towards the situations. This helps in making an overall contribution towards the welfare of the society. To nurture this Campus with its dream plans of expansion into a Centre of excellence for quality and professional education and the construction of a super specialty hospital, Higher secondary school, College of Nursing, Ayurveda college and Paramedical Institution apart from many other ambitious plans which are to be embarked on.

Malabar Dental College is an institution that embellishes the cause of dental education in its truest sense. From very humble beginnings, this Mecca of Dentistry has earned reputation by catering huge services in the field of imparting excellent education. The College has witnessed a successful metamorphosis with an intake of 100 undergraduate students in this current academic year. At MDC, vision for excellence is testimony to its proliferous growth. The extremely supportive teaching and non-teaching faculty and students of various ongoing batches are the most important value addition to our exuberance. As the principal of this prestigious institution, I congratulate and wish good luck to each and every student who is and has been a part of this wonderful journey.

As the chairman of Crescent International Group, he has presence in different verticals like infrastructure Development, Tourism, Manufacturing, Retail, Educational Activities. He is the Chairman of Eranad Knowledge City, Malabar Academic City, Malabar Dental college and Research Centre, Al Ameen engineering College, Al Ameen law college, Modern Higher Secondary School and Crescent International Group, Dubai.

Mohammed Shihab has completed MBA from Edinburgh Business School, Herriot Watt University, UK and Bachelor of Technology in Aeronautical Engineering from Hindustan Aeronautics Academy, Bangalore. Currently he is based in Dubai, Director and CEO of CIG- Crescent International Group and Media Advertising. He has Strong expertise in Education Management, Trading and Distribution, Media, Real Estate and Properties.

Thufail Mohamed

Thufail Mohammed holds MBA in Education Management from Christ University, Bangalore and BBA from the University of Wollongong, Dubai. In a successful career with extensive experience and servicing as a Vice Chairman for past 6 year, he has achieved great recognition and respect. He is a source of young talent for the organization, who believes in development by educating and training the youth. He prefers working in a close knit, young and dynamic environment. His core interests lie in Education Leadership, Research & Development.

Sameera C P, the audacious woman among the Board of directors is known for her business acumen and parallel administration of finance at Bharath TMT. She is a Graduate in English literature with fresh perspectives on empowering communities. Influential by her sense of humor, kind nature and almost unique mindset, that opens up the potentiality of woman driven at multitasking as a home maker, entrepreneur and manager at the same time. With her social vision to provide full employment and motto of standing true to your values, she pose a role model for women whose creative flames don’t dim with age but tends to burn all brighter.

Shihab Mecheri graduated in Law from Government Law College, Thrissur and MBA from ELIMS, Calicut University. Shihab Mecheri has expertise in starting and top level Management of successful organization in Education, Health Care, Retail, Hospitality and Mining. He was IQAC consultant for CMS College, Kottayam and Guruvayurappan Institute of Management, Coimbatore. CEO & Executive Director of Eranad Knowledgecity, Supriya Speciality Hospital, Malabar Dental College, Rasheed Zeenath Wedding Mall, Nextity Education & Management LLP.

Dr. Raghu M Nair

Dr. Raghu M Nair finished Dental Graduation in 1998 from Vinayaka Missions Sankarachariyar Dental College Selam. After pioneering presence dentistry from 1998-2005, joined in the Malabar Dental College and Research Centre and flown acting with the growth and success of MDCRC worked along with all major projects and enhancement of MDCRC.

Dr. Meenu Merry C. Paul

Dr. Meenu completed her undergraduation in dentistry from Vinayaka Mission's Dental College, Salem in 1996. She went on to pursue her post graduation in Prosthodontics and Crown & Bridge from K.L.E' s institute of Dental Sciences, Belgaum, Karnataka in 2000. She is an eminent prosthodontist and an excellent academician, having a teaching experience of over 20 years in various under graduate and post graduate instituitions across Kerala. She is a founder member of ISPRP(Indian Society of Prosthodontics- Restorative- Periodontics) and  life member of IPS (Indian Prosthodontic Society).

Campus Location

Serene Location on top of small hillock, away from city, but well connected by air, rail and road, provide the proper calm and quite atmosphere for the student to do sincere studies.

University Results

Pass percentages in recent years were 96-100%. Our student Mrs Sheenu M.S is the  First Rank holder of Calicut University in 2012 , and a few students hold the rank in the university every year. From 2010 onwards college approved under Kerala University of Health Sciences.

Academics

Highly trained and qualified faculty members in all the departments to impart proper individual training to make the student to become a good quality dentist.
