Department Overview

Pathology consists of the abnormalities in normal anatomy and normal Physiology owing to disease. Knowledge and understanding of pathology is essential for all would be practitioners of Art of healing and Science because unless they have knowledge and understanding of the language and pathologic basis of disease they would not be able to Institute appropriate treatment or suggest preventive measures to thepatient. In our department 2nd year BDS students are getting familiar with various techniques in general pathology with the help of modern instruments.

Dr. Rajesh S Patil

Professor and Head of Department

Dr. Rajesh S Patil is an energetic, vibrant pathologist who has many publications under his belt. He has got enormous 17 years of service in teaching pathology. He is a consultant pathologist who worked at various hospital clinical laboratory. Is a member of indian association of pathologists. Underwent various medical education technology training sessions. Has vast experience as blood bank officer and has conducted many blood donation camps and has inspired people in blood donation and social service.

Why Anatomy Department is Special ?

The department consist of:

DISSECTION HALL

The specious Dissection Hall is with sufficient number of cadavers, skeleton, specimens, models, etc.  Demonstration area with X-ray lobby and charts makes the students to understand the structures effectively in depth. 

Students are used to do dissection of cadavers with supervision of well experienced teachers. 

MUSEUM 

The museum provides an insight of the structure of human body to the student and the visitors as well. The Anatomy museum located in the Anatomy Department premise is with well-preserved human body specimens, dry and wet specimens. The models of various systems of the human body is also well arranged in the museum. The articulated skeleton is also another attraction of the museum. 

HISTOLOGY LAB

Histology lab provides adequate knowledge on microscopic structure of various body parts and tissues. Histology lab is with adequate number of microscopes, best quality histological slides and equipment. The basic knowledge on microscopic structure helps to understand the underlying histopathological conditions more effectively. 

CADAVER ROOM

The specious cadaver room with well-preserved cadavers and other wet specimens are maintained well in the Department. The cadaver room is with proper ventilation and fumigating facility. The technician and non-teaching staffs are used to maintain the cadaver room and Department premise to function smoothly.

DEPARTMENT LIBRARY/REFERENCE AREA

The Anatomy Department is with good number of books for reference in the department itself.
