Department Overview

Established in 2007, the Department of Prosthodontics, Crown and Bridge, and Implantology at Malabar Dental College is a hub of skilled rehabilitation cases. Our professionals offer advanced procedures, mentorship, and updated knowledge through live demonstrations and hands-on clinical sessions.

Teaching undergraduates and postgraduates, we cover various areas like dentures, partial dentures, fixed partial dentures, maxillofacial prosthetics, and Implantology. Our fully equipped department features 44 dental chairs, preclinical labs, a phantom head lab, and a ceramic lab. We prioritize patient care, innovative teaching, and research activities, boasting a specialized Implantology center with modern facilities. Our commitment to excellence reflects in ongoing research and professional development programs for faculty and students.

Department Facilities

Objectives:
  1. Effective and innovative teaching methods for the UGs and PGs.
  2. Small research activities to be undertaken by the undergraduates.
  3. Small and long term research activities to be undertaken by the postgraduates.
  4. Evidence based learning in the clinical practice.
  5. Introduction of innovative methods for teaching.
  6. Introduction of problem based learning at UG and PG levels.
  7. Self learning through seminars.
  8. Effective evaluation system for the student’s performance.
  9. Acquire contemporary equipment and materials for availability of basic to advanced treatment to the patient.
  10. Be host to local and national seminars in subject under the ambit of the university.
