Department Overview

Established in 2007, the Department of Prosthodontics, Crown and Bridge, and Implantology at Malabar Dental College is a hub of skilled rehabilitation cases. Our professionals offer advanced procedures, mentorship, and updated knowledge through live demonstrations and hands-on clinical sessions.

Teaching undergraduates and postgraduates, we cover various areas like dentures, partial dentures, fixed partial dentures, maxillofacial prosthetics, and Implantology. Our fully equipped department features 44 dental chairs, preclinical labs, a phantom head lab, and a ceramic lab. We prioritize patient care, innovative teaching, and research activities, boasting a specialized Implantology center with modern facilities. Our commitment to excellence reflects in ongoing research and professional development programs for faculty and students.

Introduction of problem based learning at UG and PG levels.
Self learning through seminars.
Effective evaluation system for the student’s performance.
Acquire contemporary equipment and materials for availability of basic to advanced treatment to the patient.
Be host to local and national seminars in subject under the ambit of the university.

Dr William Thomas Completed His BDS From AB Shetty Institute Of Dental Science Mangalore Karnataka[Deemed To Be University] In 1994 And MDS In Prosthodontics And Crown And Bridge From KVG Sulliya Karnataka[Affiliated To Rajiv Gandhi University] In 2004.He Also Completed American Academy of Implant Dentistry Course From Narayana Hrudayalaya. He Also Completed MBA In Hospital Administration & International Relations From Kingster UK.[NIBM GLOBAL].

A Determined Academician And Proficient Clinician in Prosthodontics And Implant Dentistry With National And International Work Experience. Currently He Is Working As Professor And HOD Of Dept Of Prosthodontics In Malabar Dental College With More Than 19 Years Of Experience. He Serves As A PG Guide Under Kerala University Of Health Sciences, And An Internal As Well As External Examiner To Various Universities In The Country.
